Two original teaching activities transferred from Psy101 Teaching. They use constructed material to examine verification and intellectual responsibility; they are not evaluated interventions.
Audit an AI explanation
Time
25–35 minutes
Goal
Source verification and warranted inference
Format
Live, blended or asynchronous
What students do
Supply a teacher-prepared draft containing one fabricated citation and one causal overclaim, alongside real sources. Label the draft as constructed teaching material. Ask students to locate each fault, explain it and propose a supported correction.
Check learning
Grade the documented verification and correction. Do not reward polished rewriting alone.
Access and boundaries
Students need no AI account. Do not introduce the invented citation as a real study.
Assistance or delegation?
Time
20–30 minutes
Goal
Accountability in an AI workflow
Format
Small groups or individual worksheet
What students do
Compare two fictional records: a student uses AI for search terms; another agent selects, reads and writes the entire review. Identify which intellectual decisions each student retains. Propose an independent follow-up that tests the course outcome.
Check learning
Require a connection between the delegated step and the evidence of learning.
Access and boundaries
Use fictional work and no private student prompts or personal records.
